[usually a doctor's] prediction about a disease.
英语解释:a doctor’s opinion about the way in which a disease or illness is likely to develop
The prognosis of a doctor about an illness is bad, if according to the doctor, the patient's condition is likely to worsen. If the prognosis is good, it is likely to improve and the patient is likely to be cured. A prognosis also is a judgment about the development of a situation in future. The prognosis is more and more automation of human society; that is, as time goes on, more and more work will be done by computers.
- The mother of the boy almost fainted when the doctor gave his prognosis. In his opinion of the condition of the boy with lung cancer, he may survive at the most for three months.
- The prognosis on the basis of things as they stand at present is that the time is not far off when without attending college or classes a student can complete a course.
