When you prognosticate you say what you think will happen in future about something. You prognostic good things if in your opinion good things are going to happen. If you prognosticate danger, in your opinion something dangerous is going to happen.
- The economist prognosticated more prosperous days for the nation. If the present growth rate is maintained, he was sure that the nation was on the road to prosperity.
- The bad results prognosticated by the expert did not come off after all. Nothing bad has happened so far and there is no likelihood of bad happening in future either. This shows that expert opinion need not always be relied upon.
