Protocol is a system of rules of behavior on official occasions like meetings between the officials and elected representatives of two different countries. A president of one country visiting another country is to be received by a person in a similar position and status in the host country. This is an example of protocol. If this is not followed then it is a violation of protocol. A protocol is also the first or original version of agreement between two nations.
